Climate Change

Climate Change is a global issue requiring local solutions and councils are at the forefront of developing these and working with their communities to implement them.

The Southern Tasmanian Councils Authority (STCA) established the Regional Climate Change Initiative (RCCI) to provide a source of independent and pragmatic science-based climate change information and advice to Tasmanian Local Government in the southern region and to encourage collaborative action.

The RCCI works to build the capacity of Councils and their communities to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and respond to climate change. It also aims to identify awareness raising and behaviour-change projects.
