The Southern Tasmanian Weed Strategy Steering Committee was formed in 2006 to oversee implementation of the strategy.

The committee has representatives from all major stakeholder groups across the Southern NRM Region including local government; NRM South; Parks & Wildlife Service; Hydro Tasmania; Dept. of Primary Industries, Parks, Water and Environment; Dept. of Infrastructure, Energy and Resources; Transend; Forestry Tasmania; Tasmanian Farmers and Graziers Association and the Southern Tasmanian Councils Authority.

The committee meets quarterly.
